Clarkson Evans named as national Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer

Clarkson Evans has been recognised for their outstanding contribution to apprenticeships at the National Apprenticeship Awards 2015.

The highly commended employer stood out from more than 1,200 entrants to be named a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer at London's Grosvenor House.

After a tough selection process the most exceptional apprenticeship employers from all the National Apprenticeship Awards employer categories went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer apprenticeships.

Lindsey Young, HR & Training Director at Clarkson Evans said: “We are thrilled to be named as a Top 100 apprenticeship employer. We are passionate about playing our part in training the next generation of electricians, especially with the well-documented shortage of skilled workers in the construction industry. It is wonderful that our longstanding commitment to apprenticeship training is being recognised nationally.

“I hope that our success will encourage more businesses in Gloucestershire to follow our example and find out how apprenticeships can help grow a skilled and highly qualified workforce,” added Lindsey.

Skills Minister Nick Boles said:

“Congratulations to Clarkson Evans for your success at the National Apprenticeships Awards. Apprenticeships are set to be one of the great success stories of the decade, and Clarkson Evans is a worthy ambassador.

"We are committed to 3 million apprenticeships by 2020 so that even more businesses can follow Clarkson Evans' lead and reap the benefits of apprenticeships."

Clarkson Evans specialises in wiring new homes for the UK’s leading housing developers, wiring around 1 in 10 of all new properties built in England and Wales last year. In total Clarkson Evans employs around 700 staff and operates across much of southern England, the Midlands and south Wales.
