Free Training for your staff - and up to 2400 Pounds

Gain free English and/or Maths qualifications for your staff and up to £2400 incentive for your business.

There are 7.4 million people in the workforce who have below an A-C grade at GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. Improving these skills will have a positive effect on the quality, accuracy, consistency and efficiency of work in addition to motivational and morale improvements. By improving these core skills, opportunities for development will also open up for individuals such as apprenticeships or further learning. To support this a business can access £800 per employee, up to a maximum of three people. GFirst is keen to ensure that as many businesses in Gloucestershire are able to access this training and funding – with a deadline of 31st May 2015.

Where and when?

The training is being delivered by learndirect who have centres in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud and Cinderford. In addition they are able to deliver on employer premises if you have enough staff and the appropriate resources. The centres are open during office hours, but sessions have also been arranged on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and also on Saturday mornings to minimise any disruption to the business. In addition, online learning is available.

The training is flexible and depends on an individual’s needs, however on average requires the attendance of two sessions per week for 6-8 weeks.

Eligibility?

• Adults aged 19 or over

• Employed or volunteering for a minimum of 8 hours per week

• Have a need to improve English and Maths skills or gain a recognised qualification
