Gloucestershire businesses raise £4400 for local charity

Over 120 business people came together on Wednesday evening for a charity quiz, to help raise funds for Fredericks Gloucestershire.

Organised by the GFirst LEP Banking and Finance Business Group, the event raised over £4,400 and the winning team from Cheltenham-based solicitors, Harrison Clark Rickerbys, beat 29 other teams to victory.

Chris Mears, Chair of the GFirst LEP Banking and Finance Business Group and Relationship Director for Santander, chaired the quiz: “It was fantastic to see so many of Gloucestershire’s businesses come together to help raise money for such an important charity. Fredericks Gloucestershire offer loans and support to start or grow small businesses in the county, and support people who have had trouble raising finance from the mainstream lenders to start up or expand existing businesses. Without this support, many people would not have been able to fulfil the ambitions for their business.”

Keith Rog of the Fredericks Foundation added: “I’m thrilled that so much money has been raised – and that so many people can see the value in the services of Fredericks Gloucestershire. Our thanks to GFirst LEP’s Banking and Finance Business Group for organising the event; the money raised means we’ll be able to support many more entrepreneurs in the county in the development of businesses and continue to increase the 400 jobs created to date.”
