GFirst LEP business quiz raises £3,600 for local charity

Over 120 business people came together on Tuesday evening to test their general knowledge and to help raise funds for National Star. Organised by the GFirst LEP Banking and Finance Business Group, the event raised over £3,600; including the amount kindly matched by Barclays and Santander in Gloucestershire

The winning team, from the Royal Bank of Scotland, beat 24 other teams to victory.

Chris Mears, Chair of the GFirst LEP Banking and Finance Business Group and Relationship Director for Santander, chaired the quiz: “I’m really pleased that so many of Gloucestershire’s businesses came together to raise money for such a fantastic, life-changing charity.

National Star plays a vital role in the county and does an incredible job helping young people with physical and learning disabilities to realise their potential.”

Holly Cook, Fundraiser at National Star, added: “The money raised will enable National Star to continue transforming the lives of young people with complex disabilities. Our thanks go to GFirst LEP’s Banking and Finance Business Group for organising the event - I’m thrilled that so much money has been raised and that so many people came out to support National Star in its 50th year”
