David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP said:
“I’m delighted that the unemployment rate in the county continues to show a steady decline month on month and illustrates continued economic recovery. Developing a highly skilled, economically productive and highly employable population in Gloucestershire remains our priority and is central to the Strategic Economic Plan that GFirst LEP will be submitting to Government in March 2014.
Our Skills Statement that underpins the Strategic Economic Plan defines the necessity to develop a strong partnership with education and businesses. This will be essential to equip students with the skills that businesses need, increase apprenticeship opportunities and provide career opportunities for local skilled and talented individuals and this will be one of our key priorities for the year ahead.”
