On Tuesday 5th December, GFirst LEP hosted a question time panel event at EDF Energy in Barnwood. Green Gourmet Founder and Executive Chair, Adam Starkey, Gloucestershire’s leading futurist, chaired the event. Other guest speakers included; Rob Loveday, Nigel Jobson, Lorrin White and John Henry Looney.

New European Funding Call Open for Specialist Support for the Manufacturing Sector
The European Regional Development Fund call offers up to £500,000 to organisations to deliver specialist business support for the manufacturing sector.

New Growth Hub and Business School Topping out Ceremony
Last week GFirst Staff and board members attended a Topping Out ceremony at the top of the new Growth Hub and Business School. Topping Out is a ceremony that marks the structural completion of a building, it is performed to ensure that no evil spirits are trapped in the building when the envelope is sealed, and that prosperity and good luck for the future will ensue. It takes place when the highest point of the building is reached and provides an opportunity for client, design team, contractor and workforce to toast the success of the building.

Gloucestershire’s Local Enterprise Partnership, GFirst LEP are pleased to announce the appointment of three new Board members; Deborah Potts, Russell Marchant and Jenny Raymond. This follows an open recruitment process where nearly 100 local business leaders applied.

New Call ERDF
The following European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) call is now open for partners to begin the application process. This call invites proposals that support inward (foreign direct) investment into the Gloucestershire Local Enterprise Partnership area. The budget for this call is £500K. The closing date for submissions is 10th November 2017.
