Business support services

The recent announcements by Government following the Comprehensive Spending Review included confirmation of the closure of the Business Growth Service in its current form.

Existing contracts will be honoured for completion by March 2016, but the grants and other forms of support that were available through Growth Accelerator and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) are now no longer available. Government has confirmed that it will continue to support businesses through Local Enterprise Partnerships and their Growth Hubs.

Business support services can be accessed locally through The Growth Hub. Created through a partnership between GFirst LEP and the University of Gloucestershire, The Growth Hub is here to help all businesses in Gloucestershire, regardless of sector or size. A more in depth service is available for businesses with high growth potential who are considering, for example innovating new products and services, recruiting new staff, upskilling or exporting.
