Discover the possibilities of cyberspace at SGS College Open Event

SGS College is holding an Open Event at its new site in Berkeley, next month, for those looking to study for a career in Cyber Security.

The College’s new campus, which is due to open September 2016, will support the Government’s plans to significantly grow Cyber Security in the UK by offering some of the best training facilities in the country for the industry.

In a speech at the home of British intelligence, GCHQ, the Chancellor pledged to increase spending on cyber security to £1.9 billion by 2020, recruiting 1,900 new staff across the three intelligence agencies and establish the first National Cyber Centre.

The Berkeley Green Campus Open Event, which takes place Saturday 23rd January, will also offer potential students the chance find out about the new engineering, construction and digital technologies provisions, which all start in September 2016. There will also be an opportunity to tour the site and hear about planning for the new Green Skills Centre.

The Skills Centre itself will be developed over the next five years into a campus, which will incorporate education, training, business start-up and research facilities and will focus on the development of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Principal, Sara-Jane Watkins comments: “We are really excited to be opening the doors of Berkeley Green to the general public. Potential students can now visit the brand new college centre to find out more about the exciting courses starting in September.”
