Dr Diane Savory OBE appointed Deputy Lord-Lieutenant for Gloucestershire

Dame Janet Trotter, Gloucestershire’s Lord-Lieutenant, has announced six new deputies, including the Chair of GFirst LEP, Dr Diane Savory OBE.

The position of Deputy Lord-Lieutenant is an honorary and voluntary one. Deputies support events and carry out duties across the county, and are selected for their considerable contributions either to national life or to their local communities - or both.

Diane said: “I am thrilled to accept the position of Deputy Lord-Lieutenant for Gloucestershire. This prestigious position is a real honour, and as Chair of GFirst LEP, I’m passionate about empowering businesses to face challenges and new opportunities, and I hope to continue to be a strong voice for businesses in the county.  I’m extremely proud to be playing a part in the future successes of the county, and looking forward to working alongside Dame Janet Trotter in this new role.”

Lord-Lieutenant, Dame Janet Trotter said: “I am delighted to announce six new Deputies who will assist in the work of the Lieutenancy. Their diverse backgrounds provide us with deep roots into the county and will help us to continue to serve it effectively in future.”

Dame Janet Trotter has been the Queen’s ceremonial representative for Gloucestershire since October 2010 and is responsible for a wide range of duties, including civic events.
