GFirst LEP Ambassador Networking Breakfasts attract over 250 local businesses

Throughout November GFirst LEP engaged closely with Gloucestershire’s business community through a series of local networking events.

Each event was held in a different district of Gloucestershire at a local business venue, bringing together over 250 local business people to learn more about local projects, to hear from some inspirational local business case studies and the opportunity to make business connections locally.

David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, commented: “To create a stronger Gloucestershire we need to continue to work with the thriving business community in the county, encouraging strong local business relationships. By showcasing businesses as venues and case studies, we were able to visit factory floors and world famous exhibitions, whilst hearing from local farmers to multi-national companies, all born in Gloucestershire. GFirst LEP is encouraging stronger local business connections to help us push for growth in Gloucestershire’s economy, increase jobs and make Gloucestershire an evolving innovative county.”

The series of networking events were launched at the world famous Cheltenham Literature Festival’s Business Day back in October, where 100 delegates saw an inspiring range of motivational speakers share their business ideas, all in the exciting venue of the Speigeltent.

Throughout the series of events delegates also got the opportunity to sign up to personally help improve and grow the economy of Gloucestershire, through GFirst LEP’s GL Ambassador scheme. The scheme offers local business people the opportunity to give time to get involved with activities to that could include; being a business mentor in local secondary schools, hosting an event, contributing their expertise to a Growth Deal project and much more.  All of the activities and time given, helps make a stronger local economy.
