GFirst LEP encourage cross sector working between Business Groups

Last week GFirst LEP held the first Business Group event, where members shared details of the projects and activities each group has been working on, to encourage cross sector working as well as network with fellow Business Group members.

GFirst LEP work with 11 Business Groups that cover a mix of business sectors, from Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing to Creative. Since Local Enterprise Partnerships were created in 2011, GFirst LEP has worked with these groups and businesses that volunteer their time and skills to deliver aims of the LEP and the county.

Dr Diane Savory OBE DL, Chair of GFirst LEP, and who opened the event last week commented: “The GFirst LEP Business Groups ensure that our projects and activities are firmly rooted in the real world, and with such great representation from local businesses and industry leaders, each group works extremely hard to deliver the projects set out in the Strategic Economic Plan for the county. We are encouraging groups to share skills and ideas, in order to create a stronger Gloucestershire and continue growing the thriving local business community, through the work of GFirst LEP.”

This event follows on from GFirst LEP’s Ambassador Networking Breakfasts back in November, which saw over 250 business people come together to learn more about local projects and hear from some inspirational local businesses whilst making local business connections; all with the aim of creating a strong business community within Gloucestershire.
