Engagement Project Manager for Anchor Institutions

Full time

12 month fixed term contract

Salary circa £40,000

Organisations with a long-term commitment to the place they are rooted in play an essential role in strengthening the local economic, environmental and social aspects of our community. Such organisations are often referred to as anchor institutions. This term is used more frequently with public sector organisations. However, many private sector businesses also demonstrate the ‘qualities’ of anchor institutions.

The key focus of this role will be to work with private sector employers and key stakeholders to establish the role of ‘business anchor institutions’. To review the strategies, procedures and commitments of businesses with regards to recruitment, procurement, use of capital assets and the environment and define how these have the ability to make a positive impact on the wider community as well as their own employees. To test these findings and establish the appetite for formal recognition of these qualities to businesses and the local community.

You will be required to develop and deliver this unique project, the associated KPIs and reporting structures. You will need to identify a project focussed business engagement strategy and demonstrate your ability to deliver against this. An understanding of businesses operations is necessary along with awareness of the current business economic climate.

You will have the ability to engage with key stakeholders from the local community and you will be passionate about social value and creating inclusive opportunities for local people and businesses.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to relationship building and be able to demonstrate your ideas and strategy for the successful delivery of this ambitious project.

The role, funded in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council, will be part of GFirst LEP’s business engagement strategy.
