New premises for county engineering company
The Stroud Metal Company has been awarded £3.5 million by the Gloucestershire Infrastructure and Investment Fund (GIIF) to facilitate the relocation of both factory and office space, to a new site located off Brunel Way in nearby Stonehouse.

Gloucestershire's Young Entrepreneurs impress GCHQ judges
GFirst LEP has run its seventh inter-schools competition to find the county’s most innovative young entrepreneur. Sponsored by GCHQ, over 50 students aged 13 and 14, from seven local schools pitched their business ideas to a panel of judges, as part of the Young Entrepreneurs Competition.

Over 120 business people came together on Tuesday evening to test their general knowledge and to help raise funds for National Star. Organised by the GFirst LEP Banking and Finance Business Group, the event raised over £3,600; including the amount kindly matched by Barclays and Santander in Gloucestershire

New Workspaces at Farm491 Agritech Hub set to Facilitate Technological Progression in UK Farming
The dynamic agritech innovation and incubation hub, Farm491 is delighted to be opening five new practical workspaces at its Harnhill site, Gloucestershire, this April. Following a soft launch, the official opening will then take place on the 30th June – with a celebrity appearance from rare breeds farmer and TV Presenter Adam Henson.

There has been a surge in the number of people volunteering as Enterprise Advisers in secondary schools and colleges to support careers education – with more than half of all volunteers at CEO or Chair level, new figures from The Careers & Enterprise Company show (March 6).
